Funded by the German government through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit GmbH and implemented by the GFA Consulting Group and the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity, the project Biodiversity-based Products as an Economic Source for the Improvement of Livelihoods and Biodiversity Protection has been piloted in three ASEAN Heritage Parks (AHP) and one National Protected Area across three different ASEAN Member States.

The project beneficiaries-villagers residing in the buffer zones of the chosen AHPs and protected area-were trained on the various steps of product value chains to develop the available raw materials around them into a sustainable source of income while ensuring that the natural resources are protected and conserved.
