Some vines or climbing ferns are dominant plants in the Phnom Kulen National Park. These vines are mostly growing in the low area, along the bank of the streams in the Phnom Kulen National Park. The vines/climbing ferns are the fast growing plants after cutting, they can re-germinate very fast and will be mature again for cutting within 6 months.

During the past few years, some villagers in Phnom Kulen National Park used to extract/cut the vine for selling as raw material at the local market in Preah Ang Thom at the foot of the Phnom Kulen Mountain. The part which is mainly used of this species are the stems. It is utilized for weaving handbags, hats and many types of souvenir products. However, wider market information about these vines/climbing ferns are lacking and the local demand around the park was limited.
